What I Do

Modern organisations are complex, change is constant.
Plans need to be adapted continuously.
Dealing with ambiguity is a critical skill.

This is why I call myself a Change Navigator:
working with leaders to ‘navigate’ change in complex settings.

I can support you with:

  • Strategy Development
  • Cross-Organisational Collaboration
  • Regulatory Change
  • Organisational Design
  • Change and Team Facilitation
Landa van den Berg

How I Work

Navigating change is team work. I work alongside leaders and teams, supporting their collaboration.

I design and facilitate workshops and group processes, creating an open and safe space for all to contribute. Together we share, listen, reflect, explore and create. I challenge all to discuss the tough and unspoken issues. I am valued in this role because I am honest, authentic, compassionate and non-judgmental.

I bring my knowledge of how organisations work and have a strong analytical and conceptual mind. This helps me to quickly get my head around complex organisations, systems and processes. Together we work our way through the complexities, bringing clarity about what really matters. I’ll suggest or design pragmatic tools and frameworks that will help us along the way.

"Being an expert is a severe impediment for listening and learning."Adam Kahane

About Me

As a consultant and facilitator I have worked for a wide range of organisations in public and private sector, initially in the Netherlands and since 2007 in New Zealand. Changing the way people collaborate has been the common theme in all my projects. Prior to consulting I was an HR manager.

Life outside work is important to me too. I am a Buddhist practitioner, love my grand piano and the New Zealand outdoors and I volunteer for a large NZ social services charity.

Testimonials

Landa has had a significant role in the design of our merged health organisation, her expertise guiding us along the way. She now is a great sounding-board and coach. She knows us well, and does not shy away from addressing the tough and sometimes sensitive issues. Her on-going involvement in our transformation offers stability and helps us to stay on track.

BRIG Andrew Gray, Director Defence Health, NZ Defence Force

Landa quickly got up to speed with very detailed subject matter and her direct but considerate approach to workshop design and facilitation created a supportive environment. It allowed participants to explore difficult issues, understand each other’s perspectives, and together move beyond problems to solutions.

Scott Trainor, Project Manager - Transport Domain Plan, Ministry of Transport

Landa brings energy, pragmatism and curiosity to the work, and helps us to navigate the complexity of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders over technically complex issues. Landa is also unfailingly generous in sharing her expertise with my team. She is one of my ‘go-to people’ for her flexibility, common sense and down-to-earth approach.

Jacinda Funnell, Manager Customs and Excise Act Review, NZ Customs Service

I love the subtitle of this book: “A guide to sustaining our humanity in the world of work.”
This NZ book describes a beautiful model and tool that helps us to uncover how to live and work in a meaningful way.  An essential skill in the modern and often rather dehumanising workplace!
A recommended read, full of practical exercises and examples, for personal and team development and coaching.
